Nineteen

Tomorrow on May the 12th at 11:57 PM I will enter my last year of teenage hood (aka its my 19th birthday). A little sigh of relief, a little sadness. As a pre-teen, movies and TV shows definitely gave me a false idea of being a teenager: I would be beautiful and popular and have a boyfriend, have the coolest car, and well I guess just be "perfect". Looking back my expectations were sort of hilarious, but I'm not sad about how my teen years have been. Seriously I have the best friends a girl could ask for who help make the teen years playful and fun like they are supposed to be. Late night talks, going to the grocery store in the middle of the night to get junk food, running around a field on the first day of summer with sparklers, and skinny dipping are all the things that have made my teenage years so special. I am excited to go on with the next year of my life which will contain: graduating high school (ironically tomorrow is my last day of high school), going to Italy, and going to college. So, happy birthday to me lol! I want to make the absolute most out of my last year of teenagehood!
I'm not having a birthday party this year because I'm having a graduation party next weekend. And I'm not expecting many gifts either, but here is my wish list (emphasize the WISH part lol)

OF course this week's playlist all has to do with being a teen:
1. Teen Angst - M83
2. Teenage Kicks - Seabear
3. Teenager - Camera Obscura
4. Thirteen - Ben Kweller
5. Seventeen - The Cat's Miaow
6. That Teenage Feeling - Neko Case
7. Teenager - The Thrills
8. Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
9. Sixteen - Los Super Elegantes
10. Teenage Hustling - Tori Amos

Swedish Fish

Come on, I know you stalk them too. They're way cooler than Cory Kennedy and can make a ballerina bun look NOT uptight. Florals, opaque tights, white keds, plaids, mini skirts, stripes, baggy tshirts are all the things these girls need that make you want to be like them.
I'm talking about those stylish Swedish girls, of course! Blogs such as Modernieter and Lisa Place have been such a source of inspiration lately, as i am sure yours. I love their beautiful photography, girly girl posts, and love of summer. their blogs just make you feel so happy and feminine. They use mainly basics with an accessory here and there that makes their wardrobe so versatile and "all year round".

They live for Victorian and vintage florals and worship anything Chloe Sevigny puts on her body.

Their simple, yet interesting way of dressing has been forever in my mind, especially while shopping. Recently I bought this oversize cardigan at Anthropologie:

It reminded me of something a cool Swedish girl would wear lol - the dainty floral, cosy knit, and oversize-ness. I'm thinking I'll wear it with black tights, a black tank, and bun on the top of my head.

It's as good as Swedish Fish lol!

123456...9&10

some Feist Lyrics :)

Ive been tagged like 27027 times and have had no time to do them until now. Thank you for tagging me though, I love tags. Finals, planning graduation parties, finishing 4 scrapbooks for friends, etc are sort of taking over my life!
....................................................

6 Quirks

1. I announce to my friends when I'm about to burp (which happens more than i would like). I guess it makes it less offensive if I acknowledge it lol (not really). At this point they just laugh.

2. I have to eat cereal at LEAST once a day - its a horrible addiction

3. I have a slight southern accent (so I've been told by some of my Yankee friends hehe)

4. I keep a "money diary" of how much I spend and how much I make - so I always know exactly how much I have to spend or save.

5. I ALWAYS write in cursive, which people totally love, or totally cant read.

6. I love being pale or fair, which is an odd thing for a teenager to want I guess.

TierGarden

Kind of been obsessed with florals, actual flowers, and well just spring in general lately. So to go with my mood (?) this post is a reflection of all things flowery.

This is a cake I made last week for my mom's friend 50th surprise party. The flowers are real and edible, I also sugared them to give them a little sparkle.

Here is the week's playlist very springy, sunny, happy, walking through a garden like - AND all the names of the songs are things you would find in a garden too:

1. Gatekeeper - Feist
2. Sunbeams - The Concretes
3. The Flowers - Regina Spektor
4. Butterfly - Katie Herzig
5. Birds and the Bees - The Bird and The Bee
6. Another Rainy Day - Corinne Bailey Rae
7. Walnut Tree - Keane
8. Cocoon - Jack Johnson
9. Asleep on a Sunbeam - Belle and Sebastian
10. The Garden You Planted - Sea Wolf
