I indulged in a guilty pleasure a few weeks ago by going to a Lauren Conrad book signing for her "novel" L.A. Candy. My bestie and I stood in line for an hour, but it was worth it - its always cool to see a celebrity. We couldn't take pics after a certain point though, so I have really bad blurry shots of her. She is actually prettier in real life and is really petite. It was sort of hilarious to be there though surrounded by all these tweeny bot fans who were screaming. I have yet to read the book.. I think I'm going to start it today. My friend says its not good writing but entertaining nonetheless - a guilty pleasure.
Current Nail Polish: Funky Limelight by Essie
Its part of their new neon collection. It is an electric shade with a matte finish - a trend that is supposed to be HUGE in the fall!

woah love the nailpolish, such a daring shade!
I wanted to go to the LC signing as well, but couldn't bring myself to do it amongst all the teeny bopper fans! The book is not great, but definitely a quick entertaining read. Kinda reminds my of Nicole Richie's book a few years back (Truth About Diamonds, or something?).
Cute nails!

Love the nail polish! And this does sound like the perfect guilty read for a couple days on the beach :)
I LOVED the book myself - I only wish I could have met her, and had her sign my copy. The two of you are so lucky. You're also lucky to have such amazing nail polish. Maybe I should try a neon color! :)
It's #1 on NYT's bestseller's list believe it or not. You gotta read it and let us know how you like it. I'm sure it's bubblegum, but there must be some substance to justify the strong reaction.
i just won a copy of her book on Cafe Fashionista can't wait to read it! so cool you got to meet her!! the neon nailpolish is beyond amazing! i need it. badddly
love the nail polish! so daring but chic!

i like those nails!
and i agree, it is always neat to see a celebrity in real life!
Hi Modern Marie! I was wondering if you had an email address? I had a few questions I wanted to ask about your blog but found it too lengthy to post here. Thanks so much!
Love your nails. The success of this book makes me so angry though! I wish people who's passion in life was writing were getting more credit and book deals rather than reality stars...
I like that nail polish! I might have to get some in that shade...=D
I just put up a full review of HP6, well the best I could muster b/c the whole thing seems really surreal after seeing at MIDNIGHT! (probably the last time I do that haha)
That is like the ultimate guilty pleasure. I'm wondering if the writing in the book is just awful. Was she as pretty in person as she is on TV?
The nails are amazing. i bet you finish the book in about 5 minutes flat. PS, OMG, cannot believe it's no 1 on New York Times bestseller list!
