Best Sugar Cookie!

This recipe is the easiest yummiest (is that a word?) cookie ever. Mix 1 box of cake mix (any flavor you want, I use yellow - as seen my picture), 1 egg, and 1 stick melted butter together. Roll into balls and place on a baking sheet. Flatten and add sprinkles of you want. Bake @ 350 until golden brown, about 12 minutes. Pour a glass of milk and eat.

My Booty

Go to the Disney store now! Yes the Disney store. In lieu of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (which was okay) the whole store has pirate wear and a treasure chest full of these little gems (haha literally). $4. 50 for a tiny pouch of them but I couldn't resist because they reminded me of the Marc Jacobs Spring 2007 Collection ( which I am always daydreaming about). Now I was thinking I could attach them to headbands, barrettes, sandals, scarves... what do y'all think I should do with them?

I'll Post my results

Pearls = Oysters= Salt Water= Beach= Summer
Wow long relation, but yes it summer for me!!! Finals sucked, and Ive had no sleep all week, but I'm ECSTATIC for now its summer! This means: fireflies, smoothies, frolicking in fields, sundresses, jellies, strawberries, pools, and traveling, don't I make it sound so poetic? haha WOW am I happy.. yea.. OK so! This also means a lot more posts as I will have no school, plays or much dance this summer. I still need to make my Summer to do list (yes I'm such a dork) full of books to read and things to make and buy!! - I'll post that soon, but until then here is my songs of Summer playlist:

1. Nice Day - Persephone's Bees
2. Young Folks - Peter Bjorn and John
3. 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) - Simon and Garfunkel
4. 1234 - Feist
5. Sundress - Ben Kweller
6. Eighties Fan - Camera Obscura
7. Cartwheels - The Reindeer Section
8. Tricycle - Psapp
9. Til the End of Time - Little Miss Sunshine Soundtrack
10. First Day of My Life - Bright Eyes

These are some seashell creatures I made a few summers ago. Just glue shells and beads together to make fish, giraffes, and turkeys. Tacky I know, yet fun!
Happy Summer!

I made these last summer...... only one more week of school left!!!!!

Vintage Bathing Suits

What happened to those days? When bathing suits were classy, pretty and figure flattering (they have corsets on it looks like)..... Not wanting to spend $200 or actually wear a vintage bathing suit, I'm trying to find less expensive, more modern options. Here we go:

From Left: Juicy Couture @ Nordstroms, Anthropolgie, Urban Outfitters, Kmart (that one probably would only last me one season)

Today I got invited to 2 pool parties - this coming weekend - so I need to get it before Friday!
Bathing Suit shopping + finals = depressing
Any other Suggestions?

Breakfast @ Tiffany's Party: Invites and Outfit

My 18th day party was this weekend - Breakfast @ Tiffany's theme. Everyone wore LBD's and i wore a Tiffany blue dress. The invites were little boxes, I painted with the custom Tiffany blue paint (home depot). I put all the party details on the bottom on a little card and filled the box with cereal (get it - BREAKFAST @ Tiffany's...?)
I'll try and get better pics of my dress on, but anyways, it was vintage (I found it in Chicago). IT was a little 60's shift - so cute. I wore tea dyed gloved, costume jewelry and cute peep toe pumps!

Breakfast @ Tiffany's Party: Decorations and Cake

I painted boxes Tiffany blue (i had it custom matched) and borrowed peoples boxes and bags to put on the tables. I hung pearls on the chandelier and put them in votives. Isn't the cake cute? I made it hehe! Good ol' fondant. Anyways, the "bar" area is actually a picture frame with Tiffany ads underneath. We had Tiffany tinis (blue dyed lemonade) and little glasses of dyed pineapple sorbet with sprite - yummy dahling! Oh and of course, we had BREAKFAST!

Breakfast @ Tiffany's Party: Favors, etc

So for breakfast I put cereal in pitchers so people could easily pour their cereal. In the movie, Holly Golightly wears an eye mask that looks like that. They sold them @ but I couldn't play $10 for each person, so I made them. If you want instructions and the template, go here. I also gave everyone a CD with all the following songs on it (its supposed to look like a record):

1. Moon River - Henry Mancini
2. Downtown - Petula Clark
3. Moon River - Randy Spendlove
4. Breakfast at Tiffany's - Henry Mancini
5. Bittersweet Faith - Bitter:Sweet
6. Loose Caboose - Henry Mancini
7. Dirty Laundry - Bitter:Sweet
8. Kaboom! - Ursula 1000
9. Moon River Cha Cha - Henry Mancini
10. Something for Cat - Henry Mancini
11. Fly Me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra
12. Come Fly with Me - Frank Sinatra
13. Mr. Yunioshi - Henry Mancini
14. Breakfast at Tiffany's - Deep Blue Something
15. She's Only 18 - Red Hot Chili Peppers
16. Barely Legal - The Strokes
17. Moon River - The Innocence Mission
18. Moon River - Audrey Hepburn and Henry Mancini
p.s. thats also the belated playlist of the week, however its longer because I'm 18!

Everyone dressed up as their fav movie star or character. I was Lucy. I made those napkins by putting stickers on them. I made a marque out of foam core and taped a string of lights around it. Its late and I'm exhausted, so comment if you wanna know more info on the party or how to make things.

Seventeen Magazine Party

My 18th birthday is Saturday, my party is Friday. Its a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. I'm uber excited! Ill post the pics this weekend. Anyways here are some pics of my birthday party last year, it was a Seventeen magazine theme:

I couldn't find pictures of everything i did, but these are the main ones. the invitation was me on the cover of Seventeen Magazine with all the party details as the captions. I made a rice crispy cake. The "flowers" are really present bows glued back to back with sparkly pipe cleaner in between. I put them in vases with colorful clear pony beads in it. Their favor was those cds, candy, and a magnet of them on the cover of a mini Seventeen magazine. All the headlines had to do with them. It was a fun party!
